Therapy in Vancouver

Counselling for Couples and Individuals

I offer a space for the things that are hard to share elsewhere. No judgement, no need to perform.

Whether you’re working through something on your own or trying to find your way back to a partner, therapy can be a place to set the weight down. I work with couples and individuals from my East Vancouver office and online across BC — slowly, without judgment, and with genuine respect for how hard it can be just to begin.

Justin creates a safe space where I felt completely comfortable. Insightful questions, and very authentic. After working with him I was able to find more kindness for myself. Highly recommend!

Carlin S.

From the start, Justin was incredibly perceptive and seemed to understand and verbalise things I couldn’t. He listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and created a space where I felt comfortable being open and honest. Thank you Justin!

Niamh J.

Compassionate, understanding, and supportive, he helped our family communicate and grow in meaningful ways. Highly recommend!

Rebekah P.

Justin was a fantastic help. I was very apprehensive to even reach out initially but delighted I did and I’m in a better place because of the work he done with me. Thanks again Justin

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need couples therapy or individual therapy?

This comes up often, and there’s no clean rule. Couples therapy is the right starting point when the relationship itself is the thing that needs attention — when you’re both willing to look at the dynamic together. Individual therapy is the right starting point when you want to work on something inside yourself, whether or not it touches your relationships. Some people do both, sometimes with different therapists. If you’re unsure, the free 20-minute consultation is a good place to talk it through — you don’t have to know in advance.

What happens in the free 20-minute consultation?

It’s a phone or video call where you can tell me a bit about what’s bringing you in and ask me anything you want. I’ll share how I’d typically approach what you’re describing, and we’ll see if it feels like a fit. There’s no pressure to book a session afterwards, and most people use the call to decide whether they want to take a next step.

Do you take insurance?

I don’t offer direct billing, but I provide receipts after each session that you can submit to your extended health plan. Most plans in BC cover counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor — it’s worth checking with your insurer to confirm your specific coverage.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for 24 hours notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged the full session fee. Life happens — if something genuinely unavoidable comes up, we’ll talk about it.

Sometimes we carry thoughts and feelings that are too heavy to bear alone. I offer a place where you can share what’s hard to share elsewhere—without judgment, without having to perform, without pretending everything’s fine when it’s not.

Ready To Take The Next Step?

I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone or video. It’s a low-pressure way to ask questions, get a feel for whether we’d work well together, and decide what feels right from there. No commitment, no pitch.
